When do you operate your activities?
Our tank activities operate April-Oct each year on Saturday, Sundays and selected Wednesdays. Woodland paintball, airsoft, archery, air rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting and quad safari are all year round (subject to weather conditions) We operate group and corporate bookings throughout the week too!
How old do you have to be to drive a tank at Armourgeddon?
You need to be 16 to drive a tank, but from 8 years old you can be involved in the battle as a passenger. To drive the military vehicles, you need to be 17 years old.
Do I need a driving license?
No, you don’t need a license or even any car driving experience for our tank driving experiences. For our Military Vehicle experiences, a driving license is preferred or at least the knowledge of how to drive a manual car.
What are passengers?
Extra Passengers can be added to your tank battle. You can have a maximum of 2 passengers but they must be over 8 years old and are subject to availability. You are advised to tell us when booking that you would like to add a passenger, but if we have space on the day, we can add them in. An additional fee is chargable for a passenger which includes their access to the viewing area and museum. Please note that passengers do not get to drive the vehicles and they are in addition to the 3 full paying customers.
Can I just come and watch?
There is a fee payable for entry to the viewing area, but this includes access to the museum too. Under 5s are free.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable, casual clothing that you wont mind getting muddy. Avoiding clothing with external chains, large tags or hanging bits is also useful. We will provide you with overalls and a helmet and there are some pairs of boots available on a first-come-first-served basis. Wellies, sturdy walking boots or shoes that can cope with lots of mud are the best footwear options. There is some movement around inside the tank to do when you get into the drivers seat and when moving between positions.
When should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive 30 minutes before your experience is due to start. This allows us the time to fill in paperwork, get you kitted up, sign in any extra passengers, take selfies and generally get prepared.
How long do the activities last?
A tank paintball battle lasts approximately 2 hours. But you should also allow time to visit the museum and the 30 minutes we ask that you arrive before your timeslot. Tank driving taster experiences last about 1 hour. Tank driving experience lasts about 45 minutes. Dads and Lads experiences last about 45 minutes. Military vehicles driving experiences last 45 minutes for 2 vehicles or 1 hour for 3 vehicles if you have the vehicles to yourself. If you are grouped together the activity will last 2 hours for 2 vehicles, 3 hours for 3 vehicles.
