Synopsis:

Your Dad. The only person that you struggle to buy gifts for. Everyone else is easy, aren’t they? Your husband or wife just tells you what they want (but always be aware of the ‘Oh no, I don’t NEED anything this year…..!' Ha! As if!) Your kids will have had the Argos book out and circled for weeks, maybe months ahead of time. But Dad? Now that’s a different kettle of fish.

Your Dad has all the socks he needs. There are 3 pairs of slippers already in the wardrobe waiting to be next in line for use. Despite not being a smoker, he has the engraved Zippo lighter and even the personalized golf tees and towel- just in case he ever feels like playing! This year’s medical report says he needs to cut down on alcohol- that’s the bottle of Whisky out then, and loose a few pounds- meal for 2 at his favourite restaurant… nope! And do more exercise- voucher for 12 months Netflix subscription off the list. So what exactly are you going to buy him for Father’s Day??! Yes, sorry to remind you but it is only a couple of weeks away.

Well, we have the answer. Of course. Send him to us and he will have a total blast for the day. We have a variety of options with a museum to entertain you and the rest of the onlookers with over 50 military vehicles to see, a Bell 47 helicopter, guns and bayonets to hold, military medals and paraphernalia to learn about, a Morse code machine and a field telephone to try and relay messages over. But while you are looking at all of that, he can get to grips with the controls of one of our fleet of 18 FV432s around the tracks at Southfield Farm. The area we use as the training tracks was once a WWII bombing range, but now plays host to tank paintball battles, military vehicle driving experiences and general fun in big tanks with guns and paintballs!

If you book a Tank Paintball Battle voucher for your Dad, he will get introduced into a crew of 3- unless you want to book a gang in together, we will do that for you, get kitted up in military overalls and boots and then after a safety briefing, head into the tank to which he is assigned. Each of our tanks has a girls name as a nickname and our instructors have their favourites. They will tell you all about that though. Once inside, the mechanics of the tank will be explained and then it’s over to your Dad! He will learn to control and maneuver the tank with the drivers hatch open to begin with until he knows what he’s doing. Then it’s hatch shut, periscope up and full battle conditions for the next laps of the track.

After each of the team has mastered the controls, they will head to the static targets and learn to move and aim the cannon, charge and load the paintball and fire at the targets. After laughing at each other and then realizing that they can actually do this, it’s back to base to decide who will take which position in the tank paintball battle.

Once the decision is made on whom the best driver, loader and aimer are, your instructor will pick a battle against another instructor and you will head off onto the track. Now in position it’s a race to get to the first checkpoint. Two paintballs are fired at each of the 6 checkpoints along the battle track. Once fired, the plan is to get to the next checkpoint first, in position and still so as to shoot at the opposition tank before they too get stationary. The winners are the tank crew to get the most direct hits. With the season only just a few weeks in, the instructors are all vying for pole position in the leaderboard so expect some pretty excited whoooops when you get a direct hit.

So, what more could you want. A perfect gift for any Dad and as many brownie points you could ever wish for!! All you need to do is call the office on 01858 880239 and speak to Tracy or Craig and they will sort your voucher out for you. Now… on to that Father’s Day card…. Sorry, we can’t help you there, although the voucher will come in a brochure wallet. You could always just use a post it!
