This is a perfect event for a special private party. I booked before the pandemic and had to rearrange for May 21. Right from the first enquiry I made I was impressed by the team. My party had an age range spanning 3 generations so I had a lot of questions such as whether it was suitable for people with various health conditions, what could the younger children do etc. Nothing seemed too much trouble and they took the time to make sure I was fully informed and comfortable with the booking.
As for the event itself, well I highly recommend it to anyone. The instructors are really patient as they take each person through the tasks of driving, loading the ammunition and shooting during the practise. T They make it both fun and safe for everyone. Then for the live battle you get a real sense of what it actually must be like as the hatches are closed and you view everything through periscopes. You just have got to do it, it's amazing.
As members of my party travelled from various places in the UK, I had originally booked a meal in a nearby pub for after the event but due to COVID restrictions at the time, I had to cancel it. In hindsight I'm glad I did as we went on a very rainy, therefore muddy, day and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have been allowed in the pub. However we all brought food and was able to eat it together at Armourgeddon - we weren't rushed out once we had finished the tank paintballing, and I am forever grateful to them for that.
The museum wasn't open at the time (covid restrictions) which was a great shame as we would have liked to visit it but it is open now and I understand it to be really interesting.
My tips would be to wear casual clothes and sturdy shoes. Be prepared to get a bit mucky and if it's raining, take a spare pair of shoes for the drive home.
Remember to smile for the camera as you pass by (you'll be told where it is). We got some lovely photos of an amazing day and proof that we drove a tank!!
Well worth the money for a unique experience.
