How would you survive life without the luxury’s we take for granted? This is an event taking you back to basics! Experience our Into the WILD survival course. This is a practical course and is designed to teach realistic and useful skills that can be put into practice in a survival situation, and guaranteed to be great fun! Examples of what you experience on the day include:

Subject 1 – Survival Psychology and Kit/Equipment Demonstration

A positive mental attitude is crucial if you ever find yourself lost. In this lesson, you’ll look through case studies showing the importance of such characteristics. You’ll also be shown items that are useful when exploring remote areas. The session concludes with a fun yet practical memory game for the whole team.

Subject 2 – Fire

In this activity, you’ll learn the most effective way to light a fire – and most importantly, how to keep its flames roaring. Using a range of local materials including silver birch bark and dried grass, your strength will be put to the test as you attempt to stay warm, and safe.

Subject 3 – Shelter building

This will not only test your team working abilities but also your planning skills. In teams, you have to build a variety of emergency shelters using a combination of man-made materials. Under the guidance of experts, learn how to make a shelter that is both secure and weather-proof.

Subject 4 – Plane Crash Challenge

Working as part of a team in this plane crash scenario, you and your colleagues will have to prioritise items that you have managed to salvage from an aircraft for your survival. Requiring decision-making skills as well as strong negotiation tactics, will your team agree on specific items?

Subject 5 -Water Source Challenge

Using the materials supplied, you and your colleagues have to build a freestanding structure. Use bamboo, ropes, guttering and more. The ultimate test will be whether you can get water flow from point A to B.

Subject 6 – Snake Pit Challenge

This activity will really test your nerve. Team members will have to negotiate a set path that is littered with rubber snakes. However, you’ll also be blindfolded so it’s up to your team to provide you with directions on where to tread
