This experience is perfect for parents to spend some time being laughed at by their son or daughter. If that appeals, as long as the child is over 8 years of age (there is no upper age limit,) then this is the activity for you! Upon arrival, you will both be issued with tank suits and helmets and after a safety briefing and some history about the FV432 tank that you will be learning to manoeuvre, it’s time to get going!

Firstly your instructor will drive you around the track and you will both sit up in the turret seats enjoying the thrill of heading into the pits and peaks of our track from high up at the top of the tank.

After a lap of the track, you will park up at the target practice position- no not the cows, but the bulls eye target board and two tanks in the middle of the track. You will both learn to charge, load, aim and fire the 40mm air cannon fitted to the turret of the tank from battle position. The question is; who will be the best shot?

Next up it’s the adult's turn to drive. Once the controls have been mastered, it’s a lap with the drivers hatch open followed by a lap in battle position with the drivers hatch closed seeing the track merely through the periscope.
The Adults and Child experience isn’t like a Yorkie Bar, it can be for the girls too.

Our experience was great. The staff were so nice and welcoming. Everyone had smiles (even through their masks). The bathrooms were very clean. The museum was small but they had so much to see. It was perfect for the place it was. My husband and boys had a great time driving the tank and shooting the cannon. Mr. Alex told them so much history about tanks and little tidbits. There were cameras taking pictures on the course. I felt the price for the USB was very reasonable for as many pictures we got. They were very good quality too. I definitely recommend them. I'm excited to go back when my daughter is a little older and can also take a tank ride.

This was a brilliant experience for anyone whose wondered what it's like to drive an armoured vehicle. Firing the turret mounted paintball gun was great fun and you got a real flavour for what it's like to operate in one of these vehicles.
Our instructor was friendly and relaxed and the museum was interesting too. All in all I would thoroughly recommend the experience.

Your kids will have had the Argos book out and circled for weeks, maybe months ahead of time. But Dad? Now that’s a different kettle of fish.
